The water drains very slowly in my bathroom sink. At the end there seems to be bubbles of air bursting through. I have already checked underneath by unscrewing the siphon cup to clean it of gunk. There is none. What else can I do besides opening up the rest of the drain tube which I want to avoid. Any suggestions would be deeply appreciated. Thanks.

You simply have clogged drain. It could be the trap under the sink, which can be taken about and cleaned out. If that is not it, you need a snake to feed into the pipe where it comes out of the wall to clear the clog.
Could be as simple as using a plunger or liquid plumber. You could also check your vent on the roof, make sure it’s clear. Then try to determine the direction your house drains, by starting at the cleanout outside, and working your way back.
