Correct. Many Chinese restaurants have the gutter at the stove. You can see them rinse the woks just after they cook.
Isn’t it sometimes used in various places?
Sure. Many other commercial kitchens.
No way I’m putting a faucet over a piece of electrical equipment! I don’t know of many people who still uses a gas range in a house…
There is no danger. As far as people using gas stoves, there are *millions* here in the USA.
It depends on the area where you live. In Arizona, for instance, gas stoves are about as rare as desert blizzards.
he could have a GFCI in series with the outlet
Tim I think you do an awesome job of explaining things to us all. On this paticular “Pot-Filler” job I was wondering if you had put wooden supports not only to hold the brass dropped eared 90′ but what exactly did those screws anchor to on the hidden retention ring? Did you install another stud behind the drywall? How bout’ drilling thru tile did your drill happen to have “hammer-action”? Again I’m not being sarcastic I really like your work but these are just ?’s that I don’t see answered.
Great ?s! No offense at all as you are most polite. There is solid 2x blocking behind the tile at that location. The lug ell fitting screwed to it and then I placed another block over that that had a hole drilled slightly larger than the diameter of the fitting. Never hammer drill tile. Never ever……. Just use a new regular bit. Once it cuts into the glaze, the rest is easy. Porcelain tile though is tougher. You often need diamond bits.
i totally had the wrong impression about this video from just the title.. lol

IM glad i watched this
Great instructions Tim, thanks. Any guidelines on how high to install the pot filler? Should it be a certain standard height above the cook top??
Great question. I got out my wife’s tallest pot and made it one inch higher.
Hi Tim great simple explanations. What is the pot filler brand and model you installed? Looks to be of good quality.
thanks
vic
That was a Moen. It is fantastic quality.
you are the best, great thanks for all upload keep a good work bye
If you are in a big family that likes pasta it’s very useful.
very informative and precise.. keep up the good work.
Why the 2 valves?
My guess is for drip safety. Remember, a drip at this location is death on a stick. No sink or drain below it. But the real answer lies with the engineers at Moen.
one before the two moving joints in case of breakage or leak which is usually left on unless emergency and one on the end which is the one you will use routinely. dont want to be reaching over possibly lit burners to turn it on.
what do we do if our contractor didn’t put a threaded copper pipe hanging out of our wall? also i don’t think they put any backer suppoert behind it.
should i open up the wall?
@PerzianKabob
Yes you are going to have to open the wall. the plumber who did the rough for you was a bastard and a hack.
