We don’t have a dishwasher, but we have a strainer thing that sits next to the sink and is sloped so it drains the water. It’s extremely nasty and moldy and not very clean. The thing is rubber. What i was going to do was soak it in a bleach/water mixture for maybe 30 mins. and scrub off the mold then. we have a utility sink, so i wasn’t going to soak it in our main sink. would this be ok to do to get rid of and kill the mold?
I have already tried dumpling bleach down the drain, eneded up with moldy bleach smell. LOL Tried a little bit of Drano…now what?
My sink drain in the kitchen has been smelling like something has died and rotted in it for about a month now. I’ve poured cleaner and even bleach down it to make the smell go away, but it still smells bad! What is making it smell so bad and what should I do?
I have a friend that throw-up in the sink one night when he was drunk. Now there is a smell coming from the drain. I tried bleach and baking soda with white vinagar. Thesa didn’t work
we cleaned the air vents at the roof top, there is no smell by the dishwasher, but the musty smell focus at the sink/drain and at the cabinet next to it, there is some smell in the cabinet under the sink, when it was just install there was some leaking but that was fixed two weeks ago but the smell remains, there is no sign any where of mold, also every night I pour bleach at each drain and once did the baking soda/vinegar mix , don’t know what else to do, please advise asap thank you
We have had the walls examed and there is no leak in the wall or underneath the sink. There is a strong mildew smell coming from inside the drain. We have tried drain-o, tilex and even bleach but the smell keeps coming back within hours. Any adivce? Do you think having the sink snaked would help?
I clean my tub and sink often. But I notice if it isn’t often enough, there’s a pink stain around the tub and under mat.
This also appears on my white dish strainer in kitchen.
Is it a form of mold? Why is it pink?

I recently purchased a home. Several days after moving in I noticed that the master bath sink has a terrible odor coming from it whenever it is left running for a few seconds. I’ve poured bleach down the drain a few times and it seems to help for several days then its right back to smelling bad again! Please help!
I have a lot of black "gook" coming up on one side of my kitchen sink – it looks like mildew. I’ve tried pouring bleach down the drain and letting Soft Scrub sit inside the sink, but that didn’t do a thing. It’s progressively getting worse, yet it never clogs and I haven’t experienced problems with water draining. How do I get rid of this nasty stuff once and for all? (besides getting a new sink and new pipes – it’s not an option)
