We are in remodel of our kitchen, and we’re nearing the completion as we just had our granite counter tops installed. The counter top order also came with a sink. But I noticed that we were not provided any drain covers or strainers. Do sinks usually come with these things? Or do you buy them separate, or does your plumber have those?
Yea there’s nothing on their website, so I’ll have to call to see if they recommend anything.

What about drain covers though? It looks like something our plumber will need when he hooks up the faucet.

Should my landlord pay for this?

There is a clog in the pipes beneath my bathtub. I’ve tried draino, liquid plumber, baking soda and vinegar, and 2 hours of plunging… but there still standing water in the tub and it’s not budging.

I called the landlord to get a plumber out here and the landlord told me that I’d have to pay for it since it’s a clog that I likely caused.
Now the clog isn’t in the water trap of the tub (because when I turn the water on in the sinks, it comes up into the tub) and we have strainers over all the sinks and the tub.

Am I legally obligated to pay for this or is my landlord?

    Slow faucets, normal shower??

Ok so this weekend I remodled the basement and had do move a cold water supply pipe to the water heater, idid ad a 8" chunk of 1/2" copper for the reroute but other than that I used the old piping.
Ever since the kitchen and bathroom sinks have been running horribly slow, however the shower, stool and clothes washer are flowing fine. I pulled out the strainers at the sink and they weren’t plugged. Checked the supply and it’s fine, and there are no leaks, this is driving me nuts!!!!! HELP!!!!! PLEASE!!!!!!!

From week 2 of renting a house, my room mates and I have had drain issues. The landlords have used plumbers to try to figure out the problems. They have dug up our yard to replace a pipe that had a root in it. They have snaked the drains several times. However, the problem still persists. My room mates and I don’t flush things other than toilet paper, we have drain strainers in the showers and kitchen sink. We feel this isn’t our fault. We have lived together before and had no issues whatsoever. However, our landlords think we are doing outrageous things to our drains and told us that they are most likely going to take the cost of these problems out of our deposits. We are all frustrated by this situation. What is the best thing to do?

I’ve never seen it, but I’ve got a Plumbing foreman that swears it’s a code. I can’t find it in the code book though. I’m specifically talking about the drianage pipes attached to the strainers that dump into the floor drain. He asked me to replace the 2" PVC pipes I installed with the old 1 1/2" tubular chrome plated stuff he originally had installed. Any licensed plumbers out there care to comment?

    Mesh nets/strainers in sinks?

So I took all the mesh nets/strainers out of my sink one by one (I think there were three or four total) to use for other purposes. I never really thought anything of it because when I’d take them out, they were never gunky or anything. What purpose do they serve in the sink? Like obviously they’re intended to block something from coming out of the tap, but what is that something? I’m wondering because this is my bathroom sink, which I only use to wash my hands and brush my teeth, but I’m wondering if it’s some sort of health hazard to use it for these activities without a mesh net/strainer in it.
