I just replaced the drainage pipe that comes after the sink strainer. I used plumbers putty to cover all the areas water can come out from. What should be done to prevent water from coming out where the sink strainer and drainage pipe meet because water still manages to get out?

you need a kitchen sink tail stock washer.
There is a special washer designed for the purpose of sealing between the down tube and the strainer basket. Part of the washer fits down into the down tube and the upper part forms the seal between the strainer basket and the down tube. They are inexpensive and available at most hardware stores.
Put in a washer… Putty won’t work on that. Make sure you put it in the right way.
